Max Verstappen claimed a dominant victory at the Saudi Arabian GP, marking his 100th podium finish in F1 and securing his first-ever back-to-back wins to start a season.
Despite a penalty, Sergio Perez finished second, contributing to Red Bull’s consecutive 1-2 finishes this season. Charles Leclerc rebounded from a challenging Bahrain GP to secure third place in Jeddah. Ferrari’s reserve driver Oliver Bearman, filling in for the unwell Carlos Sainz, impressed on his F1 debut and won the fan vote for Driver of the Day after finishing in the points.
Verstappen finished 13.643 seconds ahead of Perez, while Leclerc secured the final podium spot. Bearman’s debut saw him finish in seventh place.
Red Bull remains unbeaten after two rounds, with Verstappen leading the charge from pole position. Perez, despite a five-second penalty, held on to second place.
Leclerc faced challenges with the medium compounds but managed to secure the fastest lap of the race. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri finished fourth, followed by Fernando Alonso.
Bearman’s remarkable debut saw him qualify in P11 and make several bold overtakes during the race, ultimately finishing seventh. Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, and Nico Hulkenberg completed the top 10.
In the championship standings, Verstappen leads with a 15-point gap over Perez, while Leclerc trails Perez by eight points.
The next race on the F1 calendar is the Australian GP scheduled for March 22-24.
