Today, the government announced that the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 will take place from January 17th to January 22nd across three venues in Delhi NCR. This marks the second edition of the annual Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which merges the biennial vehicle and component exhibitions previously organized separately by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association, now under one umbrella brand.
Amardeep Singh Bhatia, additional secretary of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, stated, “It has been decided that the next Bharat Mobility Expo will be held between January 17th and 22nd. All the associations have come together and decided to have it on these days. It is going to be a larger event and will be held at three venues – Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, and India Expo Mart.”
The concept of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo was introduced by the government this year with the aim of positioning India as a mobility hub globally, offering a unified exhibition platform for the entire mobility ecosystem. The inaugural Bharat Mobility took place from February 1st to 3rd this year, under the guidance of several ministries in partnership with industry associations such as SIAM, ACMA, and others.
Vipul Bansal, joint secretary with the Department of Commerce, explained, “Bharat Mobility will now act as an umbrella brand under which individual shows of various industry associations would be undertaken. While overall branding will be Bharat Mobility for the entire mobility value chain, each part of that value chain will retain its branding during the period at three locations.”
Prior to this integration, vehicle and component expos were held separately by SIAM and ACMA every two years. Following the success of the inaugural Bharat Mobility, Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal announced the merger of all automotive shows into the Bharat Mobility Show, to be held annually.
Details regarding the venues for the Motor Show and Component Show are yet to be finalized. The government has granted flexibility to industry associations regarding the duration of their respective exhibitions within the January 17th to 22nd timeframe. India, currently a significant player in the global automotive market, anticipates becoming the largest electric vehicle market by the end of the decade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the inaugural Bharat Mobility, expressed optimism about India’s mobility sector and its journey towards developed country status by 2047.
