This historic establishment is the result of a strategic relationship with FRIWO AG Germany. The cutting-edge plant is ready to produce a wide range of products customised to the needs of EV 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers, including On-Board Chargers, Off-Board Chargers, Motor Control Units, DC-DC Converters, Battery Management Systems, and other novelties.
With operational activities now begun, the facility is positioned for an incremental increase in production in the coming quarters, bolstered by the start of production for an influx of orders received. The facility’s opening demonstrates Uno Minda Ltd’s commitment to advancing the electric mobility environment.
Uno Minda Ltd reached another key milestone in its EV capabilities by inaugurating a second EV systems facility in Bawal, Haryana, through its subsidiary Uno Minda Buehler Motor Private Limited (UMBM). This dynamic plant is painstakingly designed to manufacture cutting-edge traction motors and BLDC motors for the dynamic arena of EV 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers. The plant is on schedule to begin shipments by the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, thanks to a roster of confirmed orders from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The company’s unwavering pursuit of excellence and innovation was rewarded with an avalanche of new orders during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024, resulting in an annualised peak value of 600 crores. This surge of commitments increases the aggregated order book to a significant annualised peak value of more than 2500 crores, comprised of a strategic combination of both existing and EV-specific items, primarily supplied by key EV OEMs.
In keeping with its ambitious vision for the future, Uno Minda Ltd has outlined a strategic plan, with the goal of reaching a notable income barrier of ₹ 1500 crores from EV systems by the end of fiscal year 2026. This diverse strategy demonstrates the company’s unwavering commitment to the electrified future of the automotive industry.
