Having garnered more than 280 partners globally, which encompass notable names like BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota Motor Corporation, Ford, GM, Daimler, Chrysler, PSA, Toyota, Bosch, Siemens, Peugeot Citroën Automobiles S.A., and Continental AG, AUTOSAR’s primary objective is to standardize the software architecture governing vehicle electronic control units (ECUs). This initiative seeks to enhance the overall efficiency of automotive system software development and integration.
The evolution of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) has introduced heightened intricacies in automotive software in terms of both functionality and architecture. This has led to escalated development costs and time for manufacturers in the automotive sector. The trend is further compounded by the transition to centralized electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures, powered by high-performance computing units responsible for handling mixed-critical safety applications. AUTOSAR plays a pivotal role in addressing these challenges by furnishing standardized norms and a foundational framework.
Through this collaboration, Tata Technologies aims to engage closely with AUTOSAR in the formulation of novel standards and software structures tailored for future vehicle systems. The partnership also involves the promotion and facilitation of global adoption of AUTOSAR standards.
