In a recent press release, they announced the introduction of their heavy-duty vehicle, the Quantron QHM FCEV, and their light-duty truck, the Quantron QLI FCEV, as the initial outcomes of this partnership. The Quantron QHM FCEV made its debut at the IAA Transportation 2022 trade fair.
Randy MacEwen, CEO of Ballard Power Systems, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership expanding into the light-duty vehicle segment and advancing the use of fuel cells in the vital last-mile transportation market. He highlighted the combined technical expertise and market knowledge of Quantron and Ballard, with a shared commitment to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-powered mobility in the freight sector by delivering high-performance fuel cell engines.
Michael Perschke, CEO of Quantron AG, expressed pride in their joint achievement of developing market-ready FCEV vehicles. He emphasized the speed at which both companies achieved this milestone and noted that they are not only the first to enter the market in the 7.5-ton FCEV light vehicle category but are also leading the fuel cell technology market. He further mentioned having a significant order and offering pipeline, with potential demand for up to 100 units.
