Potenza Technology, a company owned by the Iveco Group, has unveiled a cutting-edge Battery Management System (BMS) that is compatible with both 400-volt and 800-volt battery systems. This BMS can be customized at the application level to enhance the efficiency and performance of vehicles across the entire spectrum of mobility, from commercial vehicles to hypercars. Potenza Technology’s BMS is intelligently designed to optimize on-road performance while also delivering cost efficiencies. Importantly, it adheres to ISO 26262 ASIL C standards, ensuring top-notch quality comparable to bespoke solutions while significantly reducing initial vehicle development expenses.
Potenza Technology is responsible for the complete battery system, handling the development of technology from circuitry to the final application layers with its in-house design and manufacturing capabilities. This state-of-the-art BMS stands out due to its adaptability and scalability. Its modular design allows it to work seamlessly with both 400-volt and 800-volt battery systems, and its application-level configuration ensures that vehicle efficiency and performance are maximized. This versatility enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to harness the system’s full potential across various mobility needs, spanning from commercial vehicles to hypercars.
Potenza Technology, based in the UK with European production facilities, is a subsidiary of the multinational powertrain developer FPT Industrial, which is part of the Iveco Group. Richard Devenport, General Manager & Head of Engineering at Potenza Technology, emphasized their commitment to delivering cost-efficient and high-performance solutions, with their fifth-generation BMS offering scalability. They can manufacture anywhere from a few hundred units to as many as 50,000 units, allowing them to support both niche vehicle markets and the mass market in advancing e-mobility solutions that meet current and future customer demands.
