Santosh Iyer is the first Indian – and, at 46, the youngest – to take over as CEO of Mercedes-Benz India. Martin Schwenk will take over as President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Thailand after a four-year term in India. Both of these appointments will take effect on January 1, 2023. Mercedes-Benz India has improved its position as the luxury car market leader during Martin Schwenk’s leadership and effectively navigated the Covid-19 issue. He helped shape the brand’s growth plan, which includes launching important ICE products, pioneering the luxury EV trip with the EQC, and revamping the retail network approach. His vision, strategic collaborations, and deep involvement with employees, partners, and customers all contributed significantly to the development of a future-ready, transparent, and people-centric organisation.
Santosh Iyer, Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India, has been named the company’s new Managing Director (MD) and CEO in India. Martin Schwenk, MD and CEO, stated that he will remember India for its people’s friendliness and kindness to partners and consumers. He went on to say that it is a privilege to steer the brand, introduce new trends, and continue to set new standards for our customers.
