Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), acting on behalf of Mazda Motor Corporation, has recently lodged a defect notification with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding a safety flaw discovered in specific 2024MY CX-90 vehicles.
The identified issue concerns the potential inadequacy of certain bolts associated with the steering intermediate shaft, front ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) wheel speed sensor harnesses, or front upper control arms. These components may not have been correctly tightened to the prescribed specifications or could be entirely absent. Consequently, there exists a plausible risk of such components loosening or detaching while in operation, thereby compromising the driver’s ability to control the vehicle and escalating the likelihood of an accident.
It is important to note that this defect does not exhibit any forewarning signs before manifesting itself.
To date, no reports have been received pertaining to accidents or injuries attributed to this specific defect.
The impact of this issue spans across approximately 18 vehicles within the United States.
Owners directly affected by this matter will receive notification via the U.S. Mail service. For the most up-to-date information, we encourage individuals to visit either mazdarecallinfo.com or nhtsa.gov.
