The Indian automotive leader, Mahindra & Mahindra, maintained its strong performance, achieving its highest-ever SUV sales volume in the domestic market for the fourth consecutive month in October.
Mahindra’s SUV lineup includes models like Scorpio-N, Scorpio Classic, XUV700, XUV300, Thar, Bolero, and Bolero Neo.
During October, Mahindra sold 43,708 SUV units, marking a remarkable 36% growth compared to the 32,226 units dispatched in the same month the previous year.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, commented, “While the strong festive demand should see us continue our growth momentum in November, we will closely monitor certain supply-related challenges.”
Mahindra’s SUV sales volume reached 36,205 units in July, setting a record for the company. In August, they surpassed their own record with 37,270 units and achieved another record in September with 41,267 units.
Nakra recently shared with India Today that the company plans to increase SUV production capacity to 49,000 units in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year (FY24). This expansion is focused on brands with high waiting periods, primarily the Scorpio-N, XUV700, and Thar.
