Lumax Cornaglia Auto Technologies (LCAT), a subsidiary and joint venture between Lumax Auto Technologies and Cornaglia, Italy, has expanded its operations in India with the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune.
LCAT specializes in manufacturing air filters and fuel tanks for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. With the addition of this new facility, LCAT aims to increase its current production capacity by nearly 40% through a phased expansion.
Replacing its original 32,000-square-foot plant in Chakan, the new facility spans across 250,000 square feet and includes an in-house R&D laboratory. It has received an initial investment of over Rs 30 crore and is equipped with modern precision European machines to ensure high-quality production of a diverse range of products, including air filtration systems, snorkels, blow-molded products like AdBlue tanks and degassing tanks. Additionally, the plant will manufacture plastic fuel tanks for commercial vehicles and feature a unique technology of 3D Blow Moulding products such as Hoses & Ducts, all meeting the new regulations set by the Government of India and CAFÉ and RDE norms.
Furthermore, LCAT has ventured into the roto-moulding segment for manufacturing plastic fuel tanks, fenders, roofs, and mudguards, along with offering design and development facilities.
