Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Lamborghini has achieved its highest-ever annual sales in the calendar year 2023. Celebrating its 60th year, Automobili Lamborghini has delivered a record-breaking 10,112 cars in a single year, marking a 10% increase over 2022 and affirming the consistent growth observed in recent years.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed pride in surpassing the 10,000-car delivery milestone, emphasizing the collaborative effort of the entire company. He noted that this success is the result of dedicated teamwork and commitment. Looking ahead to 2024, Winkelmann stated that Lamborghini is prepared to take on new and exciting challenges.
The distribution of delivered vehicles was well-balanced across three major regions. EMEA experienced a 14% increase over 2022, totaling 3,987 cars, followed by the Americas with a 9% increase (totaling 3,465) and APAC with a 4% rise (totaling 2,660). Notably, the United States remained the top market, with 3,000 cars delivered.
In terms of individual markets, the United States led with 3,000 cars, followed by Germany (961), China (845), the United Kingdom (801), Japan (660), the Middle East (496), South Korea (434), Italy (409), Canada (357), Australia (263), France & Monaco (255), Switzerland (211), Taiwan (131), and India (103).
India witnessed Lamborghini sales crossing the 100-car mark in a year for the first time, reflecting the increasing demand for luxury cars in the country. Other luxury car manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz India, BMW India, and Audi India, also achieved their best-ever annual sales in the calendar year 2023.
The Urus Super SUV remained Lamborghini’s best-seller, with 6,087 units, followed by the Huracán with 3,962 units. Additionally, 63 cars equipped with the iconic V12 were delivered, including the final 12 Aventadors and 51 Few-Offs.
Lamborghini’s 60th-anniversary year featured the launch of the Lamborghini Revuelto, the first V12 High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) hybrid super sports car. Orders for the Revuelto are already scheduled into late 2026. The company is actively pursuing its electrification plan, which includes the unveiling of the Lanzador concept car and the debut of the Lamborghini SC63, a racing car set to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship from 2024.
Federico Foschini, Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, highlighted the achievement as a clear indication of the brand’s growing global perception. He credited the success to the effective strategy adopted by Lamborghini and the invaluable contribution of the brand’s network of 184 dealerships operating in 54 different markets. The aim for 2024 is to continue the growth trend in the three major regions, with the anticipated contribution of the Lamborghini Revuelto.
