For its inaugural presence at Europe’s largest defense exhibition, MSPO, the Korean automaker will showcase the hydrogen-powered light tactical vehicle, a cargo truck, and a vehicle equipped with a mortar mount.
This year, Kia will introduce its ‘Hydrogen ATV (Hydrogen-powered Light Tactical Vehicle) Concept Car’ to the European audience for the first time. They will showcase a compact four-seater cargo truck designed for tactical use and a vehicle equipped with a mortar mount.
According to Kia, the ‘Hydrogen ATV Concept Car’ represents an enhancement of the conventional engine-driven ATV concept by harnessing hydrogen power. This innovation not only ensures quieter and safer maneuvering during missions but also aligns with eco-friendly policies, making it a promising vehicle for future battlefield scenarios.
The compact four-seater cargo truck features a redesigned cargo area capable of transporting both troops and weaponry simultaneously, offering versatile power utilization.
As for the small tactical ‘Mortar Mounted Vehicle,’ it is built upon Kia’s cab chassis truck and boasts adaptability for various deployment configurations, optimizing operational efficiency based on specific use cases.
The compact tactical vehicle from Kia features a robust 225hp engine coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, setting the benchmark for performance within its category. Since its commencement of mass production in 2016, it has served as the primary mode of transportation for the Korean Armed Forces.
