Honda Motor Co has revealed a partnership with Tesla, confirming the use of Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for the charging ports on its upcoming EV models set to hit the North American market in 2025.
Japanese automaker collaborates with an American electric vehicle manufacturer to embrace Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for the charging ports on its EV models, slated for release in North America from 2025 onwards. In 2025, Honda plans to debut a new EV model in North America equipped with a NACS port, with a commitment to adopting NACS standards across its future models.
For EV models launching in North America before 2025, featuring a Combined Charging System (CCS) port, Honda is developing compatibility with NACS through the use of a charging adapter.
In North America, Honda recently announced its involvement in a joint venture with seven automakers to establish a robust high-powered charging network for EVs, aimed at creating a dependable charging infrastructure. Alongside this initiative, Honda has agreed to incorporate NACS, allowing its customers to utilize Tesla Supercharger stations, greatly enhancing the charging convenience.
Honda remains dedicated to delivering a reliable and convenient charging ecosystem, facilitating widespread EV adoption, and supporting its pursuit of carbon neutrality.
