Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, is set to make its entry into the European market by mid-2024 with its first electric scooter, the Vida V1. The company’s initial operations will kick off in Spain and France, followed by the United Kingdom.
Following the launch of the Vida V1, Hero MotoCorp plans to introduce its premium range of internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles and scooters in these three countries. While distributors for Spain (Noria Motos), France (GD France), and the UK (Motogb) have been identified, commercial agreements are still in the finalization process.
Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, expressed the company’s commitment to meeting global mobility needs through eco-friendly manufacturing, fuel-efficient ICE products, and advanced EVs developed in India and Germany. Munjal is confident that Hero MotoCorp will become a trusted brand in European markets.
The Vida V1 Pro electric scooter for Europe and the UK was unveiled at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy, on November 7. Hero MotoCorp also showcased additional products such as ICE scooters (Xoom 125R and Xoom 160), Concept 2.5R XTunt, Concept Lynx (off-road electric motorcycle), and Concept Acro (electric bike for kids).
Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp, expressed excitement about showcasing their latest products and technologies at EICMA 2023. The company is collaborating with reputable partners in Spain, France, and the UK to begin commercial operations in each market by mid-2024. Gupta highlighted the plan to introduce the Vida V1 electric scooter initially, followed by expanding offerings with high-capacity premium ICE motorcycles and scooters. The Vida V1 Pro, launched in India in October 2022, features removable batteries, flexible charging options, cruise control, boost mode, two-way throttle, keyless access, and an OTA-enabled 7-inch TFT touchscreen.
