GKN Automotive, a prominent drive systems supplier, has made three key appointments to its Executive team following the demerger of GKN Automotive from Melrose into Dowlais Group.
Nic Zerbst has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), a newly created role as part of the company’s restructuring into two functional arms – Operations and Engineering. Zerbst brings over 28 years of experience in international automotive and operational leadership positions, including his most recent role as Senior Vice President of Operations at ZF Group. He replaces Markus Bannert, who previously served as interim COO.
Adam Ramsay joins GKN Automotive as the General Counsel, taking over from John Nicholson, who has transitioned to the role of General Counsel at GKN Automotive’s parent company, Dowlais Group. Ramsay has more than 25 years of in-house experience, with his most recent role being Deputy General Counsel at Smiths Group, a UK-headquartered industrial technology company.
Andrea Arobio assumes the position of Chief Strategy Officer, succeeding James Pedder, who has moved into the same role at Dowlais Group. Arobio started his career at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (now Stellantis) and later worked at Boston Consulting Group as a management consultant, specializing in global corporate strategy, strategic planning, and large-scale transformation projects.
Markus Bannert, CEO of GKN Automotive, expressed his enthusiasm for the new additions to the Executive team and their diverse expertise in driving business growth and success across various sectors. The company is focused on utilizing its cutting-edge technology to drive electrification and creating an exceptional work environment at GKN Automotive.
