Sunfilm is not permitted on automobiles, according to Transport Minister Antony Raju. The Central Motor Vehicle Code mandates that vehicle safety glasses be at least 70% transparent in the front and rear, and 50% transparent on the sides. A court order also states that cooling film, coloured film, and black film shall not be applied to car windows. The current law, according to the minister, is being misconstrued and confused in this regard. If necessary, the minister said he would seek legal guidance on the adhering of glazing plastics. Because the law currently prohibits the use of sunfilm in automobiles, Minister Antony Raju has asked the Transport Commissioner to take action against violators.
