On January 18, 2023, the global interior solutions provider, Antolin, inaugurated its new plant in Pune, aligning with its transformation plan’s key objective to strengthen its presence in high-potential markets. Marking the company’s entry into India, the facility is specialised in manufacturing lighting, HMI systems, and electronics.
Ernesto Antolin, Chairman of Antolin, graced the opening ceremony, which was attended by representatives from the company’s clientele, authorities, and Antolin executives. The establishment of this facility is seen as a strategic move to enhance Antolin’s industrial and technological capabilities in one of the world’s largest automotive markets, with a focus on technology solutions, a sector expected to drive the company’s growth in the years ahead.
Situated in Chakan, Pune, a prominent industrial hub housing major automotive manufacturers, the new center spans 3,200 square meters and includes manufacturing and assembly areas along with offices. Antolin plans to employ 200 highly skilled individuals within two years, supporting its commitment to the Indian market.
In addition to the plant inauguration, Antolin has bolstered its technology solutions business in India by creating a dedicated team within the Lighting, HMI, and Electronics Business Unit. This move positions Antolin to capitalize on the rising demand for smart advanced surfaces and functional lighting from Indian vehicle manufacturers striving to enhance passenger travel experiences.
Antolin’s projects at the new factory include supplying ambient lighting for Mahindra’s new electric vehicle platform and an innovative Central Touch Control Panel project for Tata Motors’ latest Safari and Harrier SUVs. The latter integrates smart surfaces, multi-color ambient lighting, capacitive switches, and electronics to provide an enhanced user interface and customization options.
Ernesto Antolin highlighted the company’s commitment to customer proximity, technical adaptation, collaboration in innovation, and technological development. Antolin’s expansion in India, particularly with the Chakan plant and specialized solutions team, positions the company for substantial growth in terms of sales and as a technology and engineering hub in the region.
Antolin’s ongoing transformation plan (2023-2026) aims for solid and profitable long-term growth, with a specific focus on expanding in Asia, particularly the crucial Indian market. The company already has a robust industrial and sales network in India, operating nine centers and two technical-commercial offices with over 2,000 highly qualified employees.
With a two-decade presence in India, Grupo Antolin operates six plants in various states and is a leading supplier to major automotive manufacturers, holding a significant market share in overhead systems. The company’s product portfolio includes door panels, ambient lighting, trims, and other interior components essential for car manufacturing.
