In a strategic move aimed at transforming India’s battery industry, Tesla Power India has forged a groundbreaking partnership with Thaihuawei Battery Co. Ltd., Thailand. This alliance aligns with both companies’ shared objectives of promoting trade and fostering economic growth.
A significant milestone in this collaboration is the endorsement of the Free Trade Treaty (FTT) by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in India, facilitating trade between these two multinational corporations.
This partnership promises numerous benefits, including a substantial cost reduction due to zero-import duty from Thailand, a cost advantage compared to sourcing batteries from China. Tesla Power India’s decision to import from Thailand underscores its dedication to affordability and mutually beneficial trade relations between the two nations.
With a primary focus on motorcycle batteries, this collaboration aims to bring advanced technology and affordability to the Indian market. Approximately one crore motorcycle batteries are replaced every month in India, and by enhancing battery life with innovative technology, Tesla Power India envisions cost savings for Indian consumers.
Jaroon Jaruratchatanon, representing Thaihuawei Battery Co. Ltd., Thailand, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership and highlighted their collective commitment to driving innovation, promoting affordable batteries, generating employment opportunities, and contributing to the sustainable development of India’s battery sector.
