StoreDot, known for its groundbreaking extreme fast charging (XFC) battery technology for electric vehicles, has entered into a collaboration with electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar for an advanced engineering initiative. This project aims to explore and demonstrate the application of XFC battery cell technology to an existing platform, showcasing the potential of a production-level solution.
The partnership was unveiled at Polestar Day in Los Angeles, where StoreDot’s ‘100-in-5’ XFC cell charging was demonstrated alongside a prototype of a Polestar battery module. As part of their strategic partnership, following Polestar’s investment in StoreDot, the two companies are actively working on integrating StoreDot’s production-ready XFC technology at full scale into a Polestar 5 prototype vehicle, with plans to unveil the results in 2024. The collaboration involves key aspects such as engineering design and cooling system integration.
Dr. Doron Myersdorf, CEO of StoreDot, expressed excitement about the significant progress, emphasizing that Polestar’s commitment to showcasing the extreme fast charging battery cells in a full-scale, driveable prototype marks a crucial step toward mass production.

StoreDot, a leader in silicon-dominant chemistries crucial for high-speed EV charging, has outlined its ‘100inX’ strategic technology roadmap, which includes Silicon dominant XFC, semi-solid state, and post-lithium architecture. Polestar, with plans for a lineup of five performance EVs by 2026, is positioned to leverage StoreDot’s advancements in its future electric vehicle models.
