In its sales report for the first nine months of the 2023 fiscal year (covering January 1 to September 30, 2023), automotive supplier HELLA, operating under the FORVIA umbrella brand, showcased substantial growth. Group sales saw a notable increase of 12.6 percent, reaching €5.9 bln, compared to €5.3 bln in the same period in the previous year. When adjusted for currency fluctuations, sales surged by an even more impressive 16.8 percent, totaling €6.2 bln.
Every one of HELLA’s Business Groups played a role in this prosperous business development. In the Lighting segment, sales showed a remarkable growth of 16.1 percent, reaching €2.9 bln compared to €2.5 bln in the same period of 2022. This growth was primarily driven by increased production volumes across all regions and a heightened demand for cutting-edge lighting technologies from electric vehicle manufacturers. The Electronics Business Group experienced a sales growth of 9.7 percent, reaching €2.5 bln compared to €2.3 bln in 9M 2022, largely attributed to successful high-voltage battery management systems and radar sensor sales. The Lifecycle Solutions Business Group achieved a 9.7 percent increase in sales, reaching €0.8 bln compared to €0.7 bln in 9M 2022. This growth was primarily fueled by strong spare parts sales in Poland, Mexico, and Brazil, increased demand for a newly introduced particle counter, and solid business in the agricultural and construction machinery, trucks, and buses sectors.
