Mullen Technologies is designating Memphis as its primary manufacturing hub for electric vehicles (EVs) in the United States. The company is showcasing its operations in Tunica, emphasizing the development of a Class 3 commercial electric vehicle with a forward-tilting cab. This strategic move comes after the site was previously occupied by GreenTech Automotive, which faced setbacks and ultimately failed to deliver on promises despite substantial funding.
Mullen aims to distinguish itself by focusing on the commercial fleet sector rather than the broader passenger EV market, an approach that sets it apart from competitors who primarily target retail customers. The company’s commitment to production was evident during a tour, where tangible evidence of manufacturing commercial cargo vans and smaller EV vans for consumers was showcased.
