Altigreen’s electric three-wheelers are designed to cater to the Indian market and are priced competitively to make electric three-wheelers accessible to small business owners, independent drivers, and fleet operators. These vehicles are part of Altigreen’s commitment to providing eco-friendly and cost-effective mobility solutions.
Amitabh Saran, founder and CEO of Altigreen, highlighted their dedication to offering sustainable and affordable mobility options. He stated, “Using MATLAB and Simulink enabled our teams to rapidly test ideas and iterate on new design enhancements and features. Our proactive approach of investing in simulation and clean technologies, such as electric powertrains, helped the company reduce emissions and noise and create electric three-wheelers that outperform their fossil fuel counterparts in terms of torque, power, and range.”
Altigreen initially enrolled in the MathWorks Startup Program, which provides early-stage companies with cost-effective access to essential tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and over 120 vertical applications for building prototypes and scaling production. The program also offers technical mentoring, support from application engineers, language-specific training, and discounted training opportunities.
Sunil Motwani, Country Manager, Sales & Service at MathWorks, commented on Altigreen’s participation in the program, stating, “Altigreen’s participation in the MathWorks Startup program allowed it to gain early access to our industry-standard tools and enabled the company to accelerate its product development time and scale commercially.”
Altigreen’s adoption of Model-Based Design facilitated a significant reduction in development time and enabled the utilization of simulations with real-world test data, making the design process more iterative. As a result, the Altigreen team managed to complete their last drivetrain redesign in under 13 months, a remarkable achievement compared to the typical two-year timeline for such projects.
This collaboration between Altigreen and MathWorks represents a significant step forward in the development of electric three-wheelers, contributing to the expansion of sustainable and efficient mobility solutions in India and beyond.
