Danfoss and Google have unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at harnessing cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) to promote energy-efficient solutions within data centres.
In this collaboration, Danfoss, the Danish multinational engineering group, will leverage Google Cloud’s generative AI capabilities to enhance customer experiences, streamline internal workflows, and bolster organisational productivity. This entails utilising gen AI to gather and present information, automate knowledge, craft product descriptions, and develop e-commerce solutions.
As a global frontrunner in energy-efficient solutions, Danfoss is teaming up with Google to deploy sustainable cooling systems for data centres and devise mechanisms for repurposing excess heat generated by these facilities, as highlighted in the press release.
Danfoss Turbocor compressors, renowned for their reliability and efficiency, are being integrated by Google to optimize energy usage within data centres.
Ravichandran Purushothaman, President of Danfoss India Region, remarked, “The strategic alliance between Danfoss and Google will expedite the digital transformation of customer experiences. Harnessing the latest AI technologies and energy efficiency in data center operations will enable Danfoss’ clients to achieve common objectives of sustainability, operational excellence, and business performance.”
Furthermore, Danfoss’ heat reuse modules will enable Google to capture and repurpose heat generated by data centers, providing a renewable energy source for onsite heating and neighboring commercial, residential, and industrial entities requiring heat for their operations. The press release anticipates that Danfoss’ expertise in decarbonization solutions will play a pivotal role in advancing data center sustainability across Europe, North America, and beyond.
This latest agreement, unveiled during the AHR Expo in Chicago, USA, builds upon the existing collaboration between the two entities, both founding members of the Net Zero Innovation Hub in Fredericia, Denmark, announced in September 2023. This collaboration signifies a broader partnership between Danfoss and Google.
Jürgen Fischer, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions, commented, “At Danfoss, we aspire to revolutionize data center construction and decarbonisation in collaboration with our clients. By partnering across industries, as demonstrated with Google, we accelerate progress towards building superior and more sustainable data centers using currently available technologies.”
Google’s Vice President of Data Center Innovation, J.P. Clausen, stated, “Danfoss is a leader in energy efficiency, and these solutions support Google’s 2030 objective of operating our data centers on carbon-free energy 24/7. We’re delighted to deliver AI innovation through Google Cloud, empowering companies like Danfoss to operate in innovative and smarter ways.”
