Audi of America and Verizon Business have announced a partnership to bring 5G connectivity to Audi’s lineup in the United States, beginning with selected models for the 2024 model year. This collaboration marks Verizon’s inaugural venture with a global premium automaker to incorporate 5G-enabled vehicles, signifying a significant advancement in automotive technology.
The integration of embedded 5G Ultra Wideband connectivity into Audi vehicles will enable advanced driving features, connected services, and fast in-car Wi-Fi and infotainment systems.
Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business, emphasised the transformative nature of this partnership, highlighting Audi’s forward-thinking approach to integrating 5G technology into its vehicles. Filip Brabec, Senior VP of Product Planning at Audi of America, reiterated Audi’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of connectivity, building upon its history of introducing in-vehicle Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity.
